This is for a fortuneteller!
This client is a fortune teller. She offers readings through a method she developed called ''Chikyuu Suimei''—which blends the traditional Four Pillars of Destiny with her own unique approach. Her work has given hope to many people, myself included.
What kind of person is she?
While she is a fortune teller, what makes her stand out is her grounded presence. Fortune tellers are often imagined as being connected to the cosmos or to invisible realms—floating, in a sense—but she gives the impression of being firmly rooted in the earth.
Impression from discussion with her
Her name is 薫子, read as Shigeko. When I combined the ideas of fortune telling and earthiness, the image that came to mind was a Jōmon-era Dogū* clay figurine. Both characters in her name are composed of rounded, curving lines, which made me think they could be used to create a design inspired by a Dogū. So I gave it a try.

At first, I created a 36 mm square seal for her. Later, she asked for something more versatile, so I also made a 9 mm round seal. She now uses them to stamp cards for her clients.

The life purpose from her name sound
Interestingly, the sound “shi” in her name is said to carry the meaning of informing others and offering reassurance. In that sense, she truly lives her purpose through fortune telling.
